Pro Evolution Soccer 2010!!!!

Konami has let loose more exciting PES 2010 details along with the news that Liverpool FC’s Fernando Torres will now be joining Lionel Messi on the front cover.

PES 2010 will be looking to take back some of its fans from FIFA 10 this year and with Lionel Messi and now Fernando Torres endorsing the game references don’t come much bigger than two of the world’s best players.

“Everyone knows that when it comes to football simulation, Konami’s PES series is by far the most realistic title available,” said Torres, adding that the “new game looks absolutely stunning, and I look forward to seeing myself in action in PES 2010.”

But what about the game itself. Konami’s just sent word of some of the titles newest features to give FIFA 10 a fright.

Among those features is an “enhanced realism” where ’soft’ goals are eliminated. Instead gamers will have to break down the opposition with neat and intricate passing triangles. It looks like the days of using Cristiano Ronaldo to scoot past everyone are gone.

Players have also been given tags based on their real-life skills. Torres for example is labelled ‘Fox in the Box’ and ‘Goal Poacher’ which should help with knowing who to start with or bring on as a match winning sub.

Each team will have its own unique settings. So cover man Torres will attack in the same positions as he would when playing for Liverpool FC, again mirroring how he plays in real life, however a tactics bar can now easily be fiddled with to change such tactics should gamers disagree with Rafa Benitez’s tactics.

Other adjustments include changes to the Master League to make it more realistic. The Champions League and Europa (formerly the UEFA Cup) are now included with gamers now required to break into the top four to get into europe where they can attract the best players when it comes to transfer time.

It’s not all brilliant news though with Mark Lawrenson still in the commentary box (along with Jon Champion), although Konami promises that commentary will be “more tied to the action” than before. So no more of Lauro’s inane ramblings.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 will be out this autumn for the PC, PS2, PS3, PSP and Xbox 360.
